How do you get new clients? How do you know where they are?

As a start up business, or a business trying to establish themselves, one the of the main skills you need to master is how to get new clients. No Clients = No Business.

How do we get new clients? How do we sell to them? How do we get our business name known and found by potential clients?

First of all, if you don’t understand what I mean by the word demographic, please go back and see an earlier post: How To Find New Clients: What’s A Demographic? As that will help make this post and video make more sense to you.

Find Your Client Niche

Think about the type of client you want to serve – who are they? Where do they live? What do they earn? What is the size of the property? How many people use the building?

Decide who your ideal client is. Decide who has the need for your product or service. Decide who has the budget to pay for and afford your product or service. Decide who you compete with – decide on a niche and chose to make a plan to conquer it!

How Do I Market To My Niche?

Now you know who your ideal client is, it should make your marketing efforts a little easier, as you now know who you are targeting. Make your marketing and sales material specifically for your niche; target their problems and sore points and identify how your product or service will solve that issue for them. Write blogs, film vlogs, send newsletters, post o Facebook or Twitter content catered to the needs, wants and problems of your niche.

How Will My Niche Find Me?

Speak the language of your niche in all on and off line communication – use the right keywords and buzz words for your niche. If your content; pictures, leaflets, facebook status updates, blogs etc are all driven towards your niche market, your business will start to show up organically when people do an online search. Stay true to your business goals.

Moral Of The Story

Stop trying to sell your services or products to every man and his wife! Get specific with the clients you are targeting, then get specific with your marketing plan for them. Become dominant in your niche sector, by being the best at what you do.
